Community Groups

Caterham and District U3A

The U3A is a national learning organisation made up of independent groups run by their members. Members are normally retired or semi-retired from paid employment, and wish to use some of their leisure time to acquire new skills and help others do the same.

They arrange talks, outings and social events throughout the year.

Caterham and District are one of the 1046 local U3As across the United Kingdom with over 439,000 members in total. This group has over 550 members.

During the present pandemic, the group is using Zoom to hold meetings, host talks, and have quizzes. They are keeping in touch with their members with weekly newsletters and are looking forward to when they are able to offer more events as things return to normal.

Health Champions

We are very pleased to welcome to the Practice our Health Champions. There are 16 volunteers who are working alongside our staff with the aim of building on an already social and friendly community.

The Champions are able to advise you of the many services available locally and will be pleased to assist you with matters such as:

  • The check-in machine
  • Registering for our on-line services
  • Using the blood pressure machines

Over the next few months the Champions will be organising some events and activities that you can join in, designed to meet new people and have a good time. The first event organised is a coffee morning being held every Thursday from 10:00-12:00 in the John Howard Room on the first floor. Please come along and join them.

We will keep you updated as more activities are organised.
